STRATEGY

Empower Your Core Business with Smart Intercom Integration

We help you strategically separate your system business from the intercom domain — vertically between components and systems, and horizontally across market segments, allowing you to focus on your core business while offering intercom solutions as an added value.

Long-term system strategy

Sustainable separation of hardware, software and services.

Collaborative approach

We believe in a collaborative approach—fostering seamless integration rather than competition—so you can enhance your portfolio by offering Intercom as a valuable, complementary solution.

Market differentiation through functionality

Use Intercom as a feature integrated into your existing systems, with the software installed directly on your own devices, rather than as a standalone product.

Intercom Software Client

You can use your own Intercom client, the Intercom client specified by your customer, or one provided by traditional Intercom vendors (as part of a system solution).

TECHNOLOGY

Intercom Integration for Device and System Suppliers

Device manufacturers and system providers often need to prepare their devices for the integration of intercom functionality.

Intercom systems consist of a frontend, a backend (e.g., data center), and the network infrastructure in between (e.g., carrier networks).

In large infrastructure projects, such as international airports, strict requirements often apply to these subsystems.

The intercom frontend in the devices comprises a module and a software client. Modern device platforms with Linux or Windows operating systems, for example, host the intercom client software in a protected container virtualization in the user space. Our module works exclusively with standard OS drivers and connects to the software client via standard audio interfaces.

The module provides an ideal solution for the mechanical, electrical, and software integration of intercom functionality – it replaces expensive proprietary components from system manufacturers and integrates seamlessly into your device architecture and project environment.

Power Supply

Power is supplied via USB-C. The host device provides a standard 5 V DC voltage with a current of 1.5 A or 3.0 A. The higher operating voltage required for the audio amplifier stage is generated internally.

Standard OS Drivers and Integration

The device works without additional drivers and is supported on Linux through ALSA and on Windows via WASAPI.

Integrated MEMS microphones

Two integrated MEMS microphones that can be used either for beamforming or to provide redundancy.

Indicator lights

Two integrated RGB LEDs with adjustable current control, enabling easy diagnostics or status indication during service.

Data Connection

Functionality represented as USB Composite Device consisting of an USB HID Keyboard, a generic USB HID device and an USB Audio Device.

Boot loader functionality is realized via USB DFU (Device Firmware Update).

External Speaker

Works with 4 Ω, 6 Ω or 8 Ω external speakers.

Dimensions

The module has dimensions of 60 mm (length) × 34 mm (width) × 10 mm (height) without mounting tabs.
